About Silchester Farm
Set in the English countryside of historic Silchester on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, Silchester Farm is an exclusive rural estate reached via a tree-lined lane and surrounded by acres of open land and formal gardens. The estate brings together a collection of distinctive buildings, giving couples flexibility across their entire day.
Ceremonies take place either inside the 400-year-old oak-beamed Hampshire Threshing Barn for up to 140 guests, or outdoors beside the lake with views of the weeping willow. The option to decide between indoor and waterside settings remains open until the day itself. After the ceremony, drinks can move between the Hen House and courtyard, before celebrations continue in the Cow Shed. The Dutch Barn houses the outdoor kitchen, while the Kitchen Garden and terrace provide space to wander among homegrown produce.
Food is prepared by in-house chefs, with menus shaped by the seasons and built around locally sourced ingredients from Hampshire and within a 70-mile radius, alongside produce grown in the estate’s own Kitchen Garden. Accommodation forms part of the estate experience. The Retreat at Silchester Farm sleeps up to 45 guests across the Farmhouse, Barn House, Granary and hand-built Pyggies. The Farmhouse is Grade II listed with original features, while the Barn House is a refurbished grain house blending old and new. The estate is yours for the day, with full access to the Hampshire Threshing Barn, Hen House, Woodshed, Cow Shed and gardens.
