Our Sustainability Commitments

The weddings team is committed to making celebrations as sustainable as possible and has joined the Sustainable Wedding Alliance to continue improving eco-friendly practices. Menus highlight seasonal ingredients from local suppliers and are paired with wines sourced from vineyards in the surrounding area. Careful menu planning helps to minimise food waste, and the sales team has also undertaken Carbon Literacy training to further their understanding of sustainable event management. Heating across the estate is powered by a biomass boiler, with most of the timber fuel sourced from nearby woodlands. Solar panels installed on the boiler roof are expected to generate around 42,200 kilowatts of electricity each year. In our restaurants, we use local produce whenever we can, and all food waste is taken daily to a composter. Grass cuttings, prunings and annual weeds are added too, helping create nutrient-rich compost for use around the estate.
