Oxford Town Hall sits on St. Aldate’s in the centre of Oxford within a Grade II* listed Victorian building opened in 1897. Its long history in the civic life of the city continues in how it is used for weddings, with five rooms licensed for civil ceremonies and partnership celebrations. Couples can hold both their ceremony and reception here with exclusive use of the spaces on their day.

The Main Hall is the venue’s largest licensed room. It has a high domed ceiling, balconies overlooking the floor and a large stage area, and can be arranged to seat up to 300 guests for a sit-down meal or 500 for a ceremony or more informal gathering. Adjacent rooms such as the Assembly Room and the Old Library offer alternative layouts: the Assembly Room has historic wood panelling, a mantelpiece and decorative paintings, and the Old Library includes timber ceilings and panelled walls. Both rooms can be used for smaller receptions, dining or gatherings.

The variety of sized rooms means couples can plan more intimate celebrations or events with larger guest lists. All licensed rooms are within walking distance of central transport links and nearby city hotels, with Oxford rail station and major bus routes a short walk away.
