Derbyshire is a county in the East Midlands of England and encompasses much of the Peak District National Park. There are many beautiful towns such as Matlock Baths, Bakewell and Buxton as well as some famous trails up Mam Tor and Kinder Scout. With Derbyshire’s romantic landscapes it is not surprising that it was the home of Mr Darcy, the love interest in Jane Austen’s widely read romance novel Pride and Prejudice. So, with so much whimsy and grandeur surrounding this county, it's no surprise that it is loved by couples as a location get married every year.

Are you a nature lover and want to have your wedding outside?

Since Derbyshire is so famous for its landscapes an outdoor wedding is definitely a great choice in this area. If you want to be completely surrounded by countryside why not check out Osmaston Park? This marquee venue is very flexible so you can tailor it perfectly to your wedding day and there are some wonderful photo opportunities here. Loosehill House is another option if you’re after a marquee venue with guest accommodation.

Do you want to get married in an iconic building?

The architecture of the Peak District is full of character but one of the most significant buildings in the area is Ensana Buxton Crescent. This 19th Century building was previously a highly sought after location to visit by the upper class members of society thanks to its thermal spring. While the spa has now been updated with all the modern amenities, the interiors are still as timelessly elegant as they always have been with high gilded ceilings and luxury finishes.

Are you looking for an affordable wedding venue in Derbyshire?

While Derbyshire may have some of the most beautiful views in the country you don’t have to break the bank to have your wedding here. At The Lion Hotel inclusive daytime packages are under £2500 which is a great price for this relaxed venue. Another reasonably priced venue is Makeney Hall where inclusive packages start from £3500 and we think the ceremony spaces here are gorgeous!
