Ardington House is a privately owned Georgian stately home built in 1720 and set within extensive formal gardens and parkland in South Oxfordshire. The estate is offered on an exclusive-use basis for weddings, giving couples and their guests sole use of the house, grounds and facilities for their celebrations.

Ceremonies can take place in different parts of the property, with a licensed outdoor setting on the island or in the elegant interior spaces of the house. The private gardens and riverside provide places for drinks and photos, with views across the water and parkland.

Weddings typically include use of a well-equipped riverside marquee with panoramic windows overlooking the river, island and house. The marquee is laid out with banquet tables and chairs for up to 200 guests, a custom-built staffed bar, dancefloor area, chandeliers and a sound system.

The venue’s chosen caterer works alongside the events team to offer multi-course menus with options to suit different styles and preferences. Couples who wish to stay as part of their celebration can book the whole house, which has 12 bedrooms sleeping up to 25 guests, and extensive outdoor spaces that include a heated summer swimming pool, tennis court and opportunities for activities such as fly fishing. Licensed for civil ceremonies across the grounds, Ardington House combines historic interiors, landscaped gardens and flexible event spaces to create a day and weekend shaped around each couple’s plans.
